Don Brain joined Global Wine Partners after spending several years developing the sale/leaseback joint venture (VinREIT) between the firm and Entertainment Properties Trust, an NYSE listed Real Estate Investment Trust based in Kansas City, Missouri. VinREIT has closed over $200MM in wine real estate sale/leaseback transactions since its inception.
Don started his business career with KPMG after graduating from the University of Notre Dame. Prior to joining GWP, Don had a 26 year career in the insurance industry, managing the national benefits practice groups for three different top 20 brokers in the U.S. In that capacity, Don had an opportunity to contribute substantiality to important benefits legislation, including testimony before Congress. Don and his family have lived in the Midwest for most of their lives. He is a former two-term city council member in his community and a 15-year chairman of the planning commission.
